NXTTakeover Portland PPV Preview

Are you ready for another NXTTakeover event? With no other WWE PPV taking place this weekend, NXT has it all to themselves. NXTTakeover: Portland has some great matches on the card with really good buildups. We finally get Adam Cole defending the NXT Championship against former champ, Tommaso Ciampa.  Rhea Ripley will put her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Bianca Belair. The Undisputed Era defend their tag titles against the Dusty Rhodes Classic winners, The Broserweights. Keith Lee defends his newly won North American Championship against Dominic Dijakovic. Johnny Gargano will be looking out for revenge against Finn Balor. Tegan Nox will also be out for revenge as she battles her former best friend, Dakota Kai. Let’s see how things should turn out for NXTTakeover: Portland.

We will kick things off with Mr. Takeover, Johnny Gargano taking on Finn Balor. When Balor returned to NXT, he had a change of attitude and targeted Gargano. After his assault of Gargano, he was injured for a couple of months. This match has the potential to be an instant classic and one the fans will walk away the winners. This could be one of the more physical matches we have at NXTTakeover Portland. Who should walk away with the victory? This is a hard one because Finn has been on a tear since returning to the NXT. On the other hand, Gargano is one of the most talented wrestlers in the world. This match could go either way, but I’m picking Balor to win this one. This feud could last until NXTTakeover Tampa during WrestleMania weekend also. Winner: Finn Balor

We have the battle for the NXT Tag Team Championships right here. The Undisputed Era will defend against the Broserweights seeing they won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The Undisputed Era have run over everyone they’ve faced to remain dominant champions. The Broserweights were put together for the tournament and have gotten better each match. For me, Pete Dunne have made it clear that he doesn’t like Matt Riddle. While Riddle is just enjoying the ride with the hopes of capturing his first gold in NXT. With Roderick Strong losing his title a month ago, could the Undisputed Era be without more gold? If the Broserweights can’t take the belts off of them, then who? Don’t be surprised if we have a title change in this match. Winners and New NXT Tag Champs: The Broserweights

We have a battle between former best friends in this matchup. Dakota Kai will battle Tegan Nox in what could be the most physical match of the night. These two were best friends as they trained together and everything. They both have suffered horrible injuries to battle back and return to the ring. After Kai wasn’t chosen for the Women’s War Games and Nox was, it changed her. After Mia Yam couldn’t compete, they asked if Kai replace her and she did. While coming out of the cage, she attacked Nox and her injured knee. This match will get some “Holy Shit” chants going, and this is another one that’s hard to decide. I’m going with Dakota Kai finding a way to win this one. Winner: Dakota Kai

We have a battle between two of the most agile big men in the business. Keith Lee will defend his championship against Dominick Dijakovic. These two have battled quite a few times since coming to NXT. All of their battles have been epic with a great display of athleticism and agility. They have also teamed with each other to help Tommaso Ciampa fight off the Undisputed Era. For this match, expect a lot of crazy stuff to be pulled out by both men. If you haven’t watched any of their other matches, go check them out right now. With Keith Lee just winning the championship, it’s hard to imagine them taking the belt this quick. I’m going with Keith Lee to retain in a great match. Winner and Still North American Champ: Keith Lee

We have the battle for the NXT Women’s Championship between the two most powerful ladies in the division. Rhea Ripley comes in as the champion as Bianca Belair tries to bring home the championship again. You can argue that these have been the most impressive ladies in the last few months. Since November, Ripley have been on a tear that culminated in her winning the title. During the Royal Rumble, Belair showed why she’s considered one of the best future prospects in WWE. With Ripley challenging Charlotte Flair for WrestleMania, could she make an appearance? Would it be to cost Ripley the championship? How about helping her win to set up their match for WrestleMania? Either way, Ripley walks out as champion after beating Belair. Winner and Still NXT Women’s Champ: Rhea Ripley

For the main event we have Adam Cole defending the NXT Championship against Tommaso Ciampa. Adam Cole has probably been on the biggest tear in his life since last year. Tommaso Ciampa was forced to relinquish his championship due to injury. Ever since Ciampa returned, he’s made Adam Cole’s life a living hell. After being on opposite sides of fighting for the last couple months, they finally go one-on-one. If my prediction is right with the Undisputed ra losing, they could interfere in this match. Either way, I’m expecting several nearfalls and just a great match. There are reports that Ciampa is hurt heading into the match, could this affect the outcome? With the next NXTTakeover even happening in a couple months, they could battle again. I’m going with Adam Cole finding a way to escape with his championship in this one. Winner and Still NXT Champion: Adam Cole

What do you think about my predictions? How do you see things turning out at NXTTakeover? Who do you want to win the matches at NXTTakeover? Leave some feedback below and enjoy this PPV tonight.
