5 Potential Destinations for Jadeveon Clowney

Jadeveon Clowney is one of the more dominant defensive players in the league since coming to the NFL. Last season, Clowney was traded to the Seattle Seahawks from the Houston Texans. Clowney signed on for one year to prove he’s one of the best players in the league. If you’re a Seattle fan, you can definitely say Clowney made a difference on defense. With such a wonderful year, will Seattle sign him to a long-term deal or will someone else scoop him up? Let’s check out the 6 possible destinations for Jadeveon Clowney.

Seattle Seahawks

The addition of Jadeveon Clowney definitely worked out for the Seahawks. Clowney helped with the pass rush and was great stopping the run also. Despite being injured, Clowney still was effective in the playoff game against the Eagles. Will Seattle commit a huge, long-term deal to keep Clowney in Seattle? Clowney has stated that he enjoyed his year in the Pacific Northwest, but he’s still going to test the market. Many believe that Clowney will stay in Seattle, but he’ll have his share of suitors.

New York Giants

While Clowney has stated that he wants to play for a Super Bowl contender, money talks. The Giants have almost $86 million dollar in cap space and could be looking at Clowney. If the Giants were to land Clowney, the defense would get an immediate boost. With so much cap space and the 4th pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Giants could turn things around quickly. Could the amount of money the Giants can toss to Clowney lure him to New York?

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have almost $98 million dollars in cap space when free agency opens up. The Colts could be enticing for Clowney seeing he could line up on the opposite side of Justin Houston. Indianapolis plays in the same division as the Houston Texans also. Clowney spent the first five years of his career with the Texans and he would love to face them twice a year. With so much money to spend, the Colts could be back on top of the division with the addition of Clowney.

Philadelphia Eagles

I’m an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. The Eagles have always been a team that builds their team through defense. Howie Roseman is known for pulling out some crazy moves to clear cap space. The Eagles have cleared a lot of space and they could be getting rid of Alshon Jeffery’s contract also. We know that Clowney was one of the most hated guys if you’re an Eagles fan. Clowney’s hit on Wentz in the playoffs knocked him out of the game early and Eagles fans were pissed. Before getting traded to Seattle, Philadelphia was one of the places Clowney wanted to play for. Could Clowney be lined up with Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham?

Baltimore Ravens

If Clowney wants to play for a contender, Baltimore could be a landing spot. The Ravens will likely be favorites along with the Chiefs to make the Super Bowl next season. If the Ravens were to trade Matthew Judon, they’ll have enough cap space to make the deal. The Ravens are already a physical team and the addition of Clowney could push them over the top. Would the Ravens go after Clowney and give him a huge contract?
