3 Potential Destinations for Cam Newton

Coach Ron Rivera was let go by Carolina and landing in Washington with the Redskins. Carolina hired former Baylor coach, Matt Rhule to guide to future of the Panthers. With the health concerns when it comes to Cam Newton, the Panthers signed Teddy Bridgewater. The Panthers stated they have given Cam Newton permission to seek a trade partner. Newton actually responded on that Instagram post and said he hasn’t asked for a trade. Usually, when an organization hire a new coach, he wants to do things his way which mean a quarterback of his likening. With Cam having so many injuries over the last few years, Newton’s health is in question. If healthy, Cam Newton would be a terrific addition to any organization. Check out these 3 potential destinations for Cam Newton.

Washington Redskins

Coach Rivera was hired by the Washington Redskins to lead the organization in the right direction. Alex Smith could return and challenge for the starting position two years after his horrific injury. While Smith can still be a good quarterback, Coach Rivera cold look elsewhere. With their first round pick last year, Washington drafted Dwyane Haskins out of Ohio State. Haskins started a handful of games and proved he could be a talented signal caller in the league. With Coach Riviera being familiar with Cam Newton, could the Redskins put something together and lure Cam to Washington? The Redskins are starting to put together a nice defense and the offense isn’t far behind. For me, this would be the perfect situation for Newton and that’s unfortunate for Dwayne Haskins.

Los Angeles Chargers

Los Angeles would be an ideal spot for Cam Newton also. The Chargers would welcome Newton into their system. Los Angeles have their fair share of weapons on the offensive end especially at the receiver position. With the addition of Cam, the Chargers could challenge the Chiefs in the AFC West. The change of scenery would be great for Cam and could make the Chargers contenders in the AFC. Los Angeles will be better this season unless they have too many injuries on defense.

New England Patriots

New England will be looking for a veteran quarterback to replace Tom Brady. Coach Belichick would probably welcome a mobile and versatile quarterback. If Cam goes to New England motivated, Coach Belichick could propel his career even more. While Newton is still young, Cam could be the quarterback for the Patriots for the next 5 or 6 years. We know that the Patriots will be as motivated as ever to continue their dominance on the league. Could you see Cam going to the Patriots?
